Dr Gaber’s history 

Dr Gaber is from Boston,Massachusetts. He graduated Boston Latin School in the National Honor Society . He  volunteered for 3 years at the Boston Association for Retarded Children and had summer Externships at the Deaconess Hospital, Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and Newton Wellesley hospitals in Boston. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University and Graduated Tulane Medical School in 1969. He did a one year internship and a 3 year Internal Medicine Residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans under Dr George Burch’s mentorship. Dr Burch chose him to work in Las Vegas for 3 months at Southern Memorial Hospital.  He then was a Major in the Air Force for 2 years in Rome New York where he also moonlighted as an emergency room doctor at local hospitals in Rome , NY.   He began his private practice in Metairie Louisiana and became the senior partner of the 4 man Internal Medicine practice with Drs Robert Songy, Gerald Weiner and Leonard Kancher. His group was judged the best Internal Medicine practice in Metairie. He ran the Continuing Medical Education Lectures at East Jefferson Hospital for 5 years and also gave community lectures on Nutrition and Preventative Health. He taught Physical Diagnostics to third year Tulane Medical students for several years. He moved his practice to Mandeville after Katrina in 2005. He mentors Nursing Practitioner students from several programs. Dr Gaber “hobby” is his fascination with Medicine with constant reading the medical journals and attending medical conferences. His recently attended a 20 hour course on emergency Diagnostic Ultrasound . In the hospital, he carries with him a pocket ultrasound machine that links to his iPhone . Many of his loyal patients have seen him for over 35 years.
